Selah sets 2025-26 season, auditions
Selah Dessert Theater will stage three productions for its 2025-26 season, and auditions for all three are scheduled next week.
The season will open Oct. 23 with David Lindsay-Abaire’s “Ripcord,” a comedy about two very different women sharing a room at a senior living residence. Mayhem and heart ensue in a story about aging and changing.
Cast requirements are two women ages 70 to 75, a man age 25 to 40 and three swings (two men and one woman) ages 30 to 40 to play multiple roles. Auditions take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Opening Feb. 27, 2026 is “Madbury Winter” by Jeffrey Kinghorn. The story about a New Hampshire family that leaves its ancestral home and the impact it has on each family member is told in prose poetry.
Cast requirements are five actors ages 30 to 50, and auditions are planned from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.
The season concludes with “Eleemosynary” by Lee Blessing. The story focuses on three generations of women: a dominant, eccentric grandmother; a brilliant daughter struggling to gain independence; and a sensitive, intelligent granddaughter who is raised by her grandmother.
It opens May 14, 2026, and cast requirements are three women ages 18 to 60. Auditions will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Each show runs for three weekends and will be staged in the performance space above Selah Restaurant, 130 S. Bridge St., Struthers.
All roles are open, and auditions are by appointment only by contacting director Mary R. Lynn by texting 330-554-2648 or through Facebook Messenger. Those who cannot attend the scheduled audition can reach out to Lynn for an alternate time.
