Poet plans reading, signing in Youngstown Mocha House

Youngstown native Lewis L. Colyar will do a poetry reading and sign copies of his latest collection, “Lewis Unplugged 2,” from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Mocha House, 120 E. Boardman St., Youngstown.

Colyar is founder and executive director of the Langston Hughes Poetry Society of Pittsburgh and creator of 7th Poet Productions. His poem “AMNO Blues” (Alabama-Mississippi-New Orleans) was featured in a documentary on Hurricane Katrina. He is co-author of the play “Unspoken Request,” and he is the creator of a series of slave narratives that have been presented in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and West Virginia.
