Straw Hat presents musical comedy
The musical comedy “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” is the next offering in the Straw Hat Theatre summer.
Written by Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Roberts, “Perfect” features 19 sketches, most with songs. The first act focuses on the foibles of dating while the second act follows on the clashes and changes that come after saying, “I do.”
The Straw Hat production is directed by Stephen Rhodes with music directed by Chris Bott. The cast features Austin Blair, Aubrey Brail, Maribeth McCarthy and John Mussig.
It will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and July 30 to Aug. 1 on the grounds of Ashtabula Arts Center, 2928 W. 13th St., Ashtabula. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for students, senior citizens and military and $11 for children ages 2 to 12, with advance purchase required either online at ashtabulaartscenter.org or by calling 440-964-3396.
In order to protect the many children and other vulnerable patrons, AAC requires visitors to wear face masks while indoors or when seated in Straw Hat Theatre. However, anyone can go without a mask by showing their COVID vaccine record at the front desk or to a Straw Hat usher at a performance.
