WYSU airs program on civil rights

In celebration of Black History Month, WYSU-FM will air “Songs for the Struggle — Jazz and the Civil Rights Movement,” at 10 p.m. Saturday.

The program features the music that jazz musicians have recorded that called attention to the fight for Civil Rights, ranging from Louis Armstrong singing “Black and Blue” to saxophonist Sonny Criss celebrating the men he called “the Black Apostles.”
