MVHS fundraiser features auction and basket raffle

The basket raffle and silent auction that are part of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society’s “Cookie Table and Cocktails at Home” fundraiser start Friday.

This year’s fundraiser takes place online due to COVID-19, and the basket raffle and silent auction will take place online as well as www.mahoninghistory.org. Both start at 9 a.m. Friday and run through noon Feb. 26.

The Cookie Table and Cocktails at Home web page has two sections with special “cookie graphics” for the basket raffle and silent auction. People can simply click on either option to go directly to the fundraiser of their choosing. There are also buttons on the web page to make a direct contribution to the MVHS Annual Fund. All donations during this fundraising time period will support the historical society’s operations and preservation efforts.

The silent auction includes original paintings by well-known local artists, a stocked Little Free Library, a behind-the-scenes MVHS tour and other unique items. The basket raffle includes more than 30-themed baskets.

“Various individuals and companies in the Mahoning Valley have really come through again this year with wonderful gift items to help MVHS generate more financial success,” said Linda Kostka, MVHS development director. “There are many kinds of care items for the body or your car, nonperishable food products that bring tasty meals to life as well as custom clothing from local schools and organizations.”

More details for the ninth annual Cookie Table and Cocktails at Home are available at www.mahoninghistory.org and www.facebook.com/mahonnghistory.
