Austintown park extends summer concert series

Austintown Township Park is extending its summer concert series into September.

The Jim Frank Combo at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Blue Siren at 7 p.m. Aug. 18 originally were supposed to be the final offerings of the series. The Tuesday series now will be extended by one week the classic rock band Sound Bite at 7 p.m. Aug. 25.

The concert series moves to Thursdays in September with four 7 p.m. concerts, weather permitting:

â– Sept. 3 — Cin City & the Saints (classic rock)

â– Sept. 10 — The Vegas Band (top 40)

â– Sept. 17 — Leanne Binder (classic rock / R&B)

â– Sept. 24 — Blue Siren (classic rock / modern country)

Admission is free. While many communities discontinued their outdoor summer concerts due to COVID-19 concerns, Austintown is one of the few communities that went forward with its outdoor concerts.
