‘Menopause’ returns to Packard

Youngstown native Donna J. Huntley will be part of the cast when “Menopause the Musical” returns to Packard Music Hall on Monday.

Huntley’s stage credits include such shows as “Hairspray,” “Chicago” and “Nunsense,” and she recorded with Atlantic Records as a member of the group Company B.

She has toured off and on with “Menopause” since 2004 and is slated to play the professional woman in Monday tour stop.

The show, written by Jeanie C. Linders, tells the story of four women who meet while all seeking the same black bra at a Bloomingdale’s lingerie sale. In addition to the professional woman, there is an aging soap star, a earth mother and a housewife who’s never been in the big city before.

Despite their diverse backgrounds, they have more in common, especially because of the changes they are experiencing as they age. And those changes are expressed through reworked version of pop hits, such as ”Stayin’ Awake” / ”Night Sweatin’,” ”My Husband Sleeps Tonight” and ”Puff, My God I’m Draggin’.”

The show has been staged in 13 countries and more than 400 cities and is the longest-running book musical in Las Vegas history.

“Menopause the Musical” will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Packard, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. Tickets range from $35 to $75 and are available at the Packard box office and through Ticketmaster.
