Top Hat serves up ‘Mangia’
Top Hat Productions is bringing back its popular dinner theater production “Mangia” for a three-weekend run.
Brian Palumbo, chef-owner of Selah Restaurant in Struthers, wrote the production, which takes place at an Italian woman’s rehearsal dinner. When one of the guests, Camilla, shows up with her sauce and meatballs, it sets off a war between between her and the bride-to-be, Irma, that lasts for 20 years — until their children plan to marry each other.
A simple menu is agreed upon, but tensions rise as the evening progresses.
Palumbo directs a cast featuring Guiseppe “Joe” Borzachiello, Lisa Casternella, Greg Endsley, Aundrea Heschmeyer, Angela Housteau, Heather Jones, Monica Moore, Liz Samuel, Mark Samuel, Chris Scott, Denise Sculli, Anthony Villa and Denny Villa.
According to Palumbo, “Mangia is a dinner theater experience that promises to keep the food and laughs in abundance. Even if you’re not Italian, you’ll leave wishing you were.”
Performances are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday through Feb. 2 at Fairview Arts & Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown Poland Road, Youngstown.
