NMG concerts feature accordionists

Accordionists Mary Tokarski and Joseph Natoli will play two concerts for the New Music Guild this weekend.

Tokarski serves as American Accordionists Association Festival chair and its first vice president. She also is a member of the Accordionists and Teachers Guild International.

She has released seven CDs, and her appearances as an orchestral soloist include the Auckland Symphony (New Zealand), the Prince George Philharmonic (Maryland), the Pioneer Valley Symphony (Massachusetts), the Mantovani Orchestra (mainland China tour), the Wolf Trap Orchestra and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project at the New England Conservatory.

Natoli is a northeast Ohio native and organizer of the International Digital Electronic Accordion Symposium (IDEAS) and recently released two albums.

Natoli will perform several of his original compositions, and he and Tokarski will perform several duets together.

Violinist Gwyneth Rollin and pianist Robert Rollin, coordinators of the New Music Guild, will open the concerts with several of Robert Rollin’s original compositions.

Concerts are scheduled at 7 p.m. Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Church, Holy Apostles Parish, 421 Covington St., Youngstown, and 7 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson Congregational Church, 41 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson.

Admission is free, and both performances will be followed by receptions with refreshments.
