Vintage Ohio marks 25 years

Vintage Ohio, an annual showcase for the state’s wineries, will celebrate its 25th anniversary this weekend.

For the silver anniversary, vendor booths will have a silver theme and a ‘Celebration Tent’ will offer limited edition vinifera wines from the “Founding Fathers of the Festival.” The tent will be open 2 to 5:30 p.m. each day so attendees who arrive before 5:30 p.m. will be treated to three free, bonus tickets to taste some of those wines.

Participating wineries this year include Barren Run Crossing Winery & Vineyard, Rootstown; Klingshirn Winery, Avon Lake; Maize Valley Winery & Craft Brewery, Hartville; Breitenbach Wine Cellars, Dover; Buckeye Winery, Newark; Silver Crest Cellars, Madison; Swiss Heritage Winery, Dover; Chateau Tebeau Winery, Helena; The Vineyards at Pine Lake, Columbiana; Deer’s Leap Winery, Geneva; Urban Vintner, Willoughby; Gervasi Vineyard, Canton; Valley Vineyards, Morrow; Heineman’s Winery, Put-in-Bay; Via Vecchia Winery, Columbus and It’s Your Winery, Akron.

This year’s event also will feature beer samples from Double Wing Brewing Company, Madison; Maize Valley Winery & Craft Brewery, Hartville; and Cellar Dweller Craft Beers, Morrow.

The entertainment lineup includes Yacht Rock Cleveland, Andy’s Last Band, Swamp Rattlers, Jim Ales, Don Perry and Larry Smith on Friday and Discovery Band, Horns and Things, Miles Beyond, Aretiflex, Forecast and Stan Miller on Saturday.

About 30 vendors and exhibitors will be set up on the grounds, and cooking demonstrations will be offered both days.

Vintage Ohio runs from noon to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Lake Farmpark, 8800 Euclid Chardon Road, Kirtland.
