Museum presents ‘Freedom’ lecture
WARREN — Leonne Hudson, a professor of history at Kent State University, will speak at 2 p.m. Saturday as part of the Sutliff Museum’s “Nurturing Pathways to Freedom” lecture series.
Hudson will talk about “The Reaction of Black Soldiers to Lincoln’s Assassination.” The reaction of these soldiers was characterized by profound sorrow combined with the occasional outburst of anger. This presentation will examine the apprehension and fear that came in the days and months following the death of President Lincoln.
