‘Moon’ opens Hopewell season

YOUNGSTOWN — The farce “Moon Over Buffalo” opens the Hopewell Theatre’s 2018-19 season

Set in the 1950s, Ken Ludwig’s comedy focuses on an acting couple, George and Charlotte Hay (Carl Brockway and Linda McGrath),whose relationship is on the rocks after George has an affair with a younger cast member (Lindie Schwarten). The two have to try to put aside their disputes when they learn filmmaker Frank Capra is coming to see their show in search of actors for his next film. However, everything that can go wrong does.

The rest of the cast includes JoAnne Santagata, Spencer Humphreys, Teresa Evans, Josh Bodnar, C. Richard Haldi and Marisa Keshock. It is directed by Regina Reynolds-Stevens with Marlene Menaldi Strollo as stage manager.

“Moon Over Buffalo” starts Friday at the Hopewell, 702 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday through Sept. 9. Tickets are $13 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens. For reservations or more information, call 330-746-5455.
