Tolley 60th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Tolley of Mecca celebrated their 60th anniversary April 30, 2020, with a drive-by celebration of family and friends and their church family.
Melvin and the former Wanda Shafer were united in marriage April 30, 1960, at Mecca Congregational Church, now Mecca Community Church.
The couple have three children, Dr. Matt (Jeneane) of Woodbine, Md., Pam (Mike) Simmons of Suffolk, Va., and John (Ginger) of Bazetta. They also have seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Tolley retired from Packard Electric with more than 32 years. He also spent four years active duty in the Navy and six years in the Navy Reserves, with two years each at Control Transformer and Taylor Winfield.
Mrs. Tolley has had a variety of jobs throughout the years, including 12 years at Packard Electric. She also worked at Walmart, Trumbull County Archives, Don Marie Donna Egg Farm and Diggins Restaurant.
They attend Mecca Community Church, where they were in charge of the kitchen for may years, and have served on mission trips.
