Allen 50th anniversary
Jerry and Vilma Allen will be honored by family members and friends as they celebrate their 50th anniversary at the Ballantyne Resort in Charlotte, N.C.
Jerry and the former Vilma Coleman were married March 25, 1970, in Youngstown. They lived in Youngstown for 26 years of their marriage while raising their three children, Troy, Hope and Mikaela. They now reside in Spartanburg, S.C., and love spending time with their family, including four grandchildren.
The couple also loves traveling, gardening and ministering to youth.
Jerry is a native of Youngstown, graduate of The Rayen High School, Central State University and earned a master’s degree at Case Western Reserve University. He was a senior industrial engineer at Delphi Packard Electric in Warren, and transferred to the Duncan, S.C., location.
He retired and pursued other passions with the Spartanburg Nutrition Council as an urban farm manager and community outreach coordinator.
Vilma spent her years raising her family and served the community as the director of Teen Straight Talk South Carolina in partnership with the Ohio headquarters. There she taught youth and family development both nationally and internationally.
