Potashnik 50th

Chuck and Jean Potashnik recently celebrated 50 years of marriage by renewing their vows at St. Columba Church in Youngstown.

Chuck and the former Jean Porrini were married May 25, 1968, at St. Mary’s Church in Warren. The couple were high school sweethearts and may even have been babies in the nursery together at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, having been born just a few days apart.

Chuck taught social studies in Southington and Howland high schools. He volunteers actively in the community and serves as president of Trumbull County Sports Hall of Fame.

Jean worked as a pediatric nurse in the offices of John Vlad, M.D., and retired from Warren City Schools as a school nurse. She serves on the board of directors of Warren Civic Music Association.

The couple was honored at a family celebration at Squaw Creek Country Club hosted by their children, Chuck (Ursula), Kristen (Dan) and Susan, and grandsons Charlie and Cooper Litman, with several members of their wedding party in attendance.

They enjoy traveling and have been blessed with a loving family and many longtime friends throughout their marriage.
