BLACK HISTORY MONTH: Beulah Baptist Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., Youngstown, will host a Black History Month program at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The event will feature Harambee dancers, who will do African dances.
VOCATION EVENTS: The Diocese of Youngstown is hosting a series of Praise & Worship Nights for Vocations at various sites within the diocese through June. These nights are meant for people to pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life.

ENCOUNTER MERCY: The Office of Youth and Young Adult Accompaniment of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown is hosting the Diocesan Youth Convention “Encounter Mercy” at Walsh University in North Canton 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 14. The daylong event features Mass with Bishop David J. Bonnar, breakout sessions, guest speaker Mari Pablo, music, adoration and time with friends.The event is open to high schoolers and registration is $50. THE ANSWER MUSICAL: “The Answer: The Musical” will be at 7:30 p.m. March 6 and 7 at St. Columba Cathedral,154 W. Wood Street in Youngstown. “The Answer” is a rock opera depiction of Jesus Christ’s passion originating in Cleveland.
The musical is based on the Gospels and focuses on the last three years of Jesus’ ministry, including his passion, death and resurrection.
The performance includes video, song and dance, and is directed and produced by Christina Dupre.
The performance is free, but a free-will offering will be accepted.
CATHOLIC CHARITIES AWARENESS: Bishop David J. Bonnar has designated
February as “Catholic Charities Awareness Month” in the Diocese of Youngstown.
This occasion provides an opportunity for Catholic parishioners and the community to learn more about the important ministry of Catholic Charities, whose mission is to provide service to people in need, to advocate for justice in social structures, and to call the entire church and other people of good will to do the same.
.While Catholic Charities’ services vary depending on local needs, the core programs offered by all three affiliate agencies are Basic Needs Assistance, which provides help with housing, utilities, food, clothing and other necessities, and the First Step Program, which provides material assistance and support to expectant parents and parents with children ages 0-3.
Catholic Charities’ services are available to all qualifying individuals as resources allow.

CHURCH HOSTS EVENT: The Women’s Day Committee of Grace AME Church, 1137 Main Ave. SW, Warren, will host an “Evening of Elegance” at 7 p.m. March 6 with dinner and music from a live jazz combo at the church.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The ticket donation is $40, and they are available by calling the church at 330-394-6270 and selecting option 1.
