TCMHRB WOMEN’S HEALTH: Carol Holmes-Chambers, Director of School and Community Wellness, and Katie Cretella, Director of Clinical Services, from the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board, spearhead health equity efforts at the board and will continue this work through a panel targeting minority women’s health. The event, titled “Advocating for Your Health: A Panel on Minority Women’s Health in the Valley,” will address the stigma that affects health care utilization, the imbalance of minority health statistics, and tips on how women can advocate for their health.
Mercy Health, Trumbull-Mahoning Rise Community Collaborative, Coleman Health Services’ Unmute the Uncomfortable, and YWCA Mahoning Valley are community partners for this panel 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, 123 N, Main St., Niles.
Free health screenings will be provided by Mercy Health. Panelists will include Dr. Frank Beck, a dentist from Mercy Health; Dr. Tonia Farmer from Lippy Group for Ear, Nose & Throat; Dr. Fareedah Goodwin-Capers from Mercy Health; Carmella Hill, a licensed clinical counselor from Empowered Hope Services; and Carol Holmes, a nurse practitioner, from Meridian HealthCare and Associates in Women’s Health of the Mahoning Valley.
Doors open at 4:15 p.m. and health screenings will be available 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to win gift cards and raffle baskets.
GRIEFSHARE SESSION: GriefShare session 1: “Is This Normal? How Grief Affects Us” will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Life Church, 610 S.Leavitt Road, Leavittsburg, in the Family Life Center classroom #2.
