Wednesday in the Garden — Evaluate Your Garden

When: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday

What: Join Master Gardeners in the Learning and Teaching Garden to learn about various gardening topics throughout the summer. Programs are held outside. Take a chair and mask, and dress accordingly.

Ponds Through the Seasons with a Focus on Aquatic Life in Winter

When: 6:30 p.m. Thursday

What: Ponds in our region are remarkably dynamic habitats that change naturally–but dramatically–with the season. The session will cover how the pond environment changes over the course of a year and how life persists under ice. The speaker is Eugene Braig IV, The Ohio State University Extension, program director, aquatic ecosystems.

Gardening From the Forest to Your Home

When: 6:45 to 8 p.m. Friday; 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday

What: Two keynotes and nine other speakers from Great Britain, Canada and the United States cover topics such as no dig gardening, everything you need to know about growing houseplants, using texture in your garden, plants you must have, herbal libations, creating urban forests, plus more

Dining With Diabetes

When: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays Sept. 22 through Oct. 13

What: Learn how to incorporate good, healthy cooking techniques and other practices to help control blood sugar through this cooking school and nutrition education program designed for people with diabetes and their family members or caregivers.

Make and Take Garden Art: Miniature Gardens

When: 5 p.m. Sept. 29

What: Join Natalie and Charlene in making a miniature garden. Provided are a mini figure, soil, a plant and the container. Attendees may bring whatever else they wish to add to their gardens.
