Soil Amendments for Gardeners
When: 10 a.m. Oct. 13
What: Participants will learn about different types of mulch and how to apply it, how compost improves the soil and how to incorporate compost into the soil. They also will learn more about organic and inorganic fertilizers, fertilizer formulations, fertilizer applications, and how to read fertilizer labels.

Deer Management in Ohio
When: 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19
What: Learn about deer in Ohio, the process for setting population-management goals, an overview of tools used to achieve management goals, deer herd condition and disease updates, management challenges, and a question-and-answer session.

When: 3 p.m. Oct. 21
What: Join Eric Barrett as he shares an overview of this year’s tomato crop. We will discuss the good practices of raising tomatoes and look at some common issues and how to fix them.

Pollinator Garden at Waterworth Park
When: 3 p.m. Oct. 28
What: Explore how the garden came to be, the steps taken to plan / implement the garden, some of the plants that were included, the pollinators it has attracted, and how it has changed throughout the season.

Humans and Wildlife
When: 6:30 p.m. Nov. 9
What: People have changed Ohio’s landscape since the time of the earliest land surveys in the late 1700s. Wildlife was affected by these changes and some species have responded and adapted to urban (developed) areas. Learn how and why wildlife thrive, understand human influence and learn how to prevent human-wildlife conflict.

What: Greenhouse gardening is a presentation about items to consider when building a greenhouse, sample construction, heating and cooling your greenhouse and managing any pest infestations. The PowerPoint presentation will include many pictures and links to other sources for more information.
