VALLEY COUNSELING OPERATING: Valley Counseling Services will continue providing mental health services to residents of the Mahoning Valley throughout the governor’s stay-at-home order. Necessary precautions will be taken to keep clients and staff safe.

Most services will be phone-based or video-based beginning this week. Clients do not need to cancel their appointment. Instead they will receive therapy, case management, nursing and psychiatry services in the safety of their home.

VCS staff will contact anyone with an existing appointment to make the necessary arrangements for their telehealth appointment.

VCS is accepting new clients at our offices located throughout Trumbull, Mahoning and Portage Counties. Residents needing extra support to assist with their anxiety, depression or other mental health related concerns are encourage to call and schedule a same-day appointment. Valley Counseling Services is a nonprofit community mental health center offering a wide range of outpatient mental health services for residents of Trumbull and Mahoning Counties and the surrounding area. VCS is certified and licensed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and accredited by the Council on Accreditation.

ST. JOE’S AT THE MALL: St. Joe’s at the Mall located in the Eastwood Mall next to JCPenney is suspending all exercise classes, gym usage, health screenings and health education programs.

The St. Joe’s at the Mall front lobby will be open with information on the COVID-19 and other community resources.

ALZHEIMER’S GROUPS: The Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter makes Alzheimer’s caregiver support groups available free of charge, open to all caregivers, family members and friends with a loved one affected by the disease or another form of dementia.

SUPPORT GROUP: For information about the Circle of Hope, a support group for those with mental health diagnosis, call 330-502-8103.

HELP GROUP: For information about Lighthouse, a group for recovering addicts and anyone struggling mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally for any reason, call Jackie at 330-898-4295.

LUPUS SUPPORT: For information about the Trumbull Mahoning Lupus Support Group, call Rhonda at 330-978-3749.

ADDICTION SCREENINGS: Narconon can help families take steps to help someone overcome addiction. Call 800-431-1754 for free screenings or referrals.

ADDICTION THERAPY AVAILABLE: PsyCare Inc., 2980 Belmont Ave., Liberty, offers clinical therapy program to treat individuals suffering with substance abuse and drug addiction issues. Family members are also welcome.
