Mon. 11:45 a.m.: Fire damages Warren bar

WARREN – Uncle Sil’s Bar & Grill, 2774 Youngstown Road SE, sustained between $50,000 and $75,000 in damages early Monday when a fire city fficials described as suspicious broke out at the establishment.

“The glass of the building’s rear door appears to have been broken, allowing someone to gain entrance,” said Warren fire Chief Ken Nussle.

The majority of the damage was inside the bar.

Tenants on the building’s second floor reported the fire after smoke detectors alerted them.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was primarily contained to the bar area, according the Nussle. There was some smoke damage to the apartments, but adjacent storefronts were not damaged.

The department was notified of the fire at 6:57 a.m. Nussle said trucks from each of the city’s three fire stations were on the scene.
