Tues. 9:40 pm: Coroner rules homicide in Niles, but mum on cause

The Trumbull County Coroner is keeping his cards close to his chest and is not revealing the way a woman was killed during a Thursday home invasion on Hiram Street.

Arlene Frasca’s death was a homicide,  Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk said.

“Only me and the killers know (the cause of death),” Germaniuk said. “So I am going to hold off.”

Niles police are continuing their investigation and do not have anything new to release to the public, police Capt. John Marshall said. Police said they believe the Frasca home was targeted for a specific reason.

“As we progress with the case, it may seem that things have gotten quiet, at least publicly. There are a lot of things that we are doing that, unfortunately, we are not able to release publicly until we have enough information,” Marshall told Tribune Chronicle news partner WKBN 27.
