ALZHEIMER SUPPORT GROUP TO MEET: Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St., Girard. For information, call 330-788-9755.

ALZHEIMER’S SUPPORT GROUP TO MEET: The Alzheimer’s Association will be holding its monthly Caregiver Support Groups on the following dates:

Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, 1350 E. Market St., Conference Room F, Warren. It’s free, and open to all caregivers, family members and friends with a loved one living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.

ACCESS AND HMHP TO HELP UNINSURED: Access Health Mahoning Valley and Humility of Mary Health Partners will help enroll people in health insurance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Eastwood Mall’s community room near Dillard’s and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 25 at Youngstown State University in the Ohio Room of the Kilcawley Center.

Financial help is available to help pay monthly premiums to those who sign up by March 31 when open enrollment ends in the federal marketplace. People with lower annual incomes (one-person household less than $16,111 annually; two-person household less than $21,714 annually) may qualify for no-cost Medicaid coverage and can also sign up at this event.

BOB EVANS HELPS JDRF: Bob Evans Farms is partnering with JDRF for the second year, with a goal of raising $100,000 for T1D research by selling JDRF’s signature paper sneakers in each of its 561 restaurants.

Through Wednesday, guests can support the fight against T1D by making donations of their choice to JDRF at a Bob Evans restaurant.

In addition, on Wednesday, Bob Evans will host a national community fundraiser, donating 15 percent of sales to JDRF when guests present a fundraising flyer. The flyer can be downloaded from Bob Evans’ Curing Diabetes Facebook page.

VALLEYCARE OFFERS UNINSURED HELP: ValleyCare Health System of Ohio is hosting two events to assist people who are uninsured sign up for health insurance by the March 31 deadline.

The first event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in meeting rooms 1, 2 and 3 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, 1350 E. Market St., Warren.

The second event will be 4 to 7 p.m. March 27 in the Politis Auditorium of Medical Office Building A, Northside Medical Center, 500 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown.

A brief overview about the Affordable Care Act will be provided at 4 p.m. Health information and screenings will also be available.

MS GROUP MEETS: The MS Support Group will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at the Knights of Columbus Warren Council, 1947 E. Market St., Warren. For more information and to confirm meeting, contact Kevin at 330-306-8399 or email Kevincode7@aol.com.

NILES OFFERS IMMUNIZATIONS: Niles City Health Department, 34 W. State St., is offering an immunization clinic from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. No appointment is necessary. Immunization records are required.

Children should be feeling well with no ailments. Children younger than 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

WARREN OFFERS IMMUNIZATIONS: The Warren City Health Department will hold a regular childhood immunization clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. March 24 at the Health Department Community Services Building, 418 Main Ave. S.W., Warren.

All clinics are walk-in; no appointment is necessary. The child should feel well and be free of fever, rash or illness. Also, bring an updated shot record for each visit. There is a fee or Medicaid cards are accepted.

HEALTH DEPARTMENT VACCINATIONS: The Trumbull County Health Department offers vaccinations to children and adults. Call 330-675-2590, Ext. 3, for information, prices or to schedule an appointment. TB testing also is available for adults by appointment.

HELP HOTLINE OFFERS BRIDGES: The Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc. Recovery Program is offering a free 10-week mental health educational course called “Building Recovery and Individual Dreams through Education and Support” from 5 to 7 p.m. each week.

There are two programs being offered, one in Mahoning County and one in Trumbull County. Mahoning County will be held Mondays at the Help Hotline Community Center. Trumbull County BRIDGES will be held Tuesdays at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

HOTLINE AVAILABLE FOR CANCER PATIENTS: The American Cancer Society offers a free, 24-hour hotline to provide information for cancer patients. Trained cancer information specialists can answer questions about specific cancers and treatment options, medications and side effects and finding local patient services.
