New beer event set for Covelli Centre

The first Youngstown BeerFest is Saturday at the Covelli Centre.

The inaugural event will feature more than 200 beers from 80 domestic and international brewers.

Participating breweries include: 21st Amendment, Abita, Anderson Valley, Avery, Ballast Point, Batch 19, Bell’s, Blue Moon, Breckenridge, The Brew Kettle, Brooklyn, Cellar Rats, Chimay, The Church Brew Works, Columbus, Coors, Crazy Mountain, Crispin, Dark Horse, Dogfish Head, Duvel, Epic, Erie, Fat Head’s, Flying Dog, Founders, Fox Barrel, Full Pint, Full Sail, Gordon Biersch, Great Divide, Great Lakes, Green Flash Harpoon, Hoppin’ Frog, Ithaca, Jolly Pumpkin, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, La Chouffe, Lagerheads, Lagunitas, Latis, Left Hand, Leinenkugel’s, Lost Coast, Magic Hat, Magners, Merchant du Vin, New Holland, North Coast, Ommegang, Oskar Blues, Peroni, Portland, Pyramid, Redd’s, Rivertown, Rogue, Rust Belt, Samuel Adams, Shipyard, Sierra Nevada, Smuttynose, Southern Tier, Stone, Third Shift, Thirsty Dog, Troegs, Two Brothers, Unibroue, Upland, Victory and Weyerbacher.

The event runs from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the arena, 229 E. Front St., Youngstown, with a VIP session starting at 1 p.m.

Tickets are $84.15 for VIP and $58.05 for general admission and are available in advance through Ticketmaster. A portion of the BeerFest proceeds will benefit Golden String Inc., which provides respite staffing, transportation, vocational training and social opportunities to people with disabilities.
