Daniel and Anne Skowronski celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 24, 2013, during a celebration hosted by their children and attended by many family and friends at the home of Nick and Mary Cheich of Painesville.
Daniel Skowronski and the former Anne Lonsway were married Aug. 24, 1963, at Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby.
Daniel spent 34 years in teaching and is a retiree of St. Helen’s School in Newbury, where he taught junior high.
Anne is a retiree of Bloomfield-Mespo Local Schools, where she worked as a secretary, and is semi-retired from Hopewell in Mesopotamia, where she worked as a cook and continues to work with residents.
The couple have nine children, Jeanne Smith of Warren, Mary (Allen) Biber of Westland, Mich., Dan Skowronski of Garrettsville, Kathryn (David) Ehle of Hilliard, Sarah (Larry) Doyle of Heath, Mark (Michelle) Skowronski of Ann Arbor, Mich., Ruth (Jason) Eliason of Delaware, Carrie (Jason) Wentzel of Langley, Va., and Julie (James) Christian of West Chester. They also have 17 grandchildren.
The couple enjoy working outdoors on their acreage in Mesopotamia, where they have lived for the past 39 years.
