Butler hosts wine event
Tickets are on sale now for the ”The Art of Wine,” a wine tasting event planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave., Youngstown.
Participating Ohio wineries include Barrel Run Crossing, Rootstown; Debonne Vineyards, Madison; Grand River Cellars, Madison, Ferrante Winery, Geneva; Harpersfield Vineyard, Geneva; M Cellars, Geneva; Markko Vineyard, Conneaut; St. Joseph Vineyard, Thompson; and Firelands Winery, Sandusky. The fundraiser will feature wine and food pairings, raffles and other activities.

Quaker Steak Austintown stages Fake Fest
Fake Fest returns from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Quaker Steak & Lube, 5800 Interstate Blvd., Austintown.
The free outdoor concert will feature performances by Panama (Van Halen tribute), Wanted (Bon Jovi tribute) and The Four Horsemen (Metallica tribute). The KISS tribute band Strutter will close the night with a set starting around 8:30 p.m.
Admission is free.
Boathouse goes to the dogs for Yappy Hour
Mill Creek MetroParks’ Lake Glacier Boathouse will be closed to the public from 4 p.m. until dark Friday MetroMutts Yappy Hour event.
Yappy Hour is a social event for dogs and their human companions. Canines and people will be able to take a ride around Lake Glacier in the MetroParks passenger boat, then go ashore for hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. Dogs will enjoy treats and a (non-alcoholic) dog-arita, while humans can quaff a beer or two from Thirsty Dog Brewery. Water and lemonade will also be available.
Yappy Hour runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The last boat ride will leave the shore at 7:30 p.m. The cost for MetroMutts members is $10; non-members are $15. Reservations can be made by calling 330-702-3000.
Hermitage will be Rockin’ at the Pointe
The Sharon Regional Health Foundation is hosting a free outdoor summer concert from noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the LindenPointe Business Park, Pennsylvania state Route 18, Hermitage, Pa.
The event will be on the grounds behind Sharon Regional’s James E. Feeney Technology Center and will feature seven bands for Rockin’ at the Pointe. The James Willaman Situation kicks off the event at noon followed by 2nd Avenue Project, FX Project, the Sharon Regional All Stars, the River Saints, Yukon Jack and Grant Street Exit Revisited.
Also featured will be a variety of food and beverage vendors, arts and crafts vendors and a large fireworks display by Pyrotecnico of New Castle, Pa.
