Rachelle Elaine Gowdy and Anthony Stephen Palac were united in marriage during a wedding ceremony held Aug. 25, 2012, at St. Roberts Bellermine Church in Cortland. Pastor Carl Kish officiated.
An outdoor reception was held following the ceremony at the home of the groom’s parents, Stephen and Crystal Palac of Vienna.
Parents of the bride are Earl R. and Elaine Gowdy of Fowler.
Kristen Schrecengost attended the bride as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Gowdy, sister-in-law of the bride and Jacqueline Mohney. Lillyanna Palac, daughter of the groom, performed the duties of flower girl.
Performing the duties of best man for the groom was Kasey Power. Groomsmen were Christopher Thompson and Stephen Palac, brothers of the groom and Jared Gowdy, brother of the bride. Cooper Palac, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearer.
The new Mrs. Palac graduated in 2003 from Mathews High School and received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Kent State University in 2008. She is employed as a registered nurse at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland.
Mr. Palac graduated from Mathews High School in 2000. He is employed as a heavy equipment operator and roustabout in the oil field at Appalachian Energy Services in Cuddy, Pa.
Following a honeymoon in southern Ohio, the couple resides in Howland.
