Mr. and Mrs. Edward Young celebrated their 60th anniversary with a family dinner at the Shakespeare’s Restaurant in Ellwood City, Pa.
Ed and the former Johanna David were high school sweethearts who were married April 28, 1953, in the nurse’s chapel at Northside Hospital by the Rev. J. Fulton Kiskaddon.
The couple have two children, Jim (Elaine) Young and Susan (Ken) Jones. They also have two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Young retired in 1994 after working 43 years at RMI. He is a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War.
Mrs. Young worked at Loblaw’s grocery store and has enjoyed flower gardening and being a homemaker.
They attend worship at Grace Fellowship Church.
Both enjoyed their many camping and traveling vacations and getting together with family and friends.
