Pickler picks Stambaugh for post ‘Stars’ date

Kellie Pickler will go from “Dancing with the Stars” to singing at Stambaugh Auditorium.

The country artist, who finished first in the ABC reality series, released her latest single, “Someone Somewhere Tonight,” last week. She currently is working on her fourth album with producers Frank Liddell (Miranda Lambert, Eli Young Band) and Luke Wooten (Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley).

Pickler is no stranger to reality television.

She was discovered during the fifth season of FOX’s “American Idol,” finishing sixth on the series. That exposure led to a record deal with BNA Entertainment.

Her 2006 debut album, “Small Town Girl,” produced three top 20 country hits – “Red High Heels,” “I Wonder” and “Things That Never Cross a Man’s Mind.” Her self-titled follow-up had four charting singles, including “Best Days of Your Life,” which peaked at number 9 on the country charts.

Pickler and opening act Brett Eldredge will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Tickets are $45 and $35 and are available at the Stambaugh box office and by calling 330-259-0555.
