Valerie Nuzzi and Christopher Shaker were united in marriage during a wedding ceremony held Oct. 6, 2012, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren. Officiating at the event was the Rev. Thomas Eisweirth.

A reception was held following the ceremony at Leo’s Ristorante in Warren.

The bride is the daughter of Terese and James Klippel and Barb and David Nuzzi of Howland. Parents of the groom are Lucinda and Alan Shaker of Howland.

Jacquelyn Sommers, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Nicole Cushler, Natalie Homa, Maria Martinez-Diaz and Alissa Trang. Addison Kistler was the flower girl.

Performing the duties of best man was the brother of the groom, Benjamin Shaker. Groomsmen were Michael Ellis, Anthony Mongelluzzo, Adam Rossi and John Swinehart.

The new Mrs. Shaker is a 2004 graduate of Howland High School and received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Mercyhurst College in 2008. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 with a doctorate in veterinary medicine. She is employed as a veterinarian at the Veterinary Center of Hudson.

Mr. Shaker graduated from Warren John F. Kennedy in 2004 and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Kent State University in 2008. He graduated with an MBA from Cleveland State University in 2012. He is employed as a financial analyst for Aclara Technologies in Solon.

Following a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple reside in Solon.
