First Lt. Melissa Anne Evans and 1st Lt. Mark Allen Hammond were united in marriage during a ceremony on Sept. 2, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Des Plaines, Ill.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Victorian Rosemont in Rosemont, Ill.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Gail Evans of Elk Grove Village, Ill. The parents of the groom are William Hammond and the late Becky Albu Hammond of Howland.
Maid of honor was Samantha Evans, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sarah McKechnie, sister of the groom, Rachel Paney, Samantha Schroeder and Lisa Bush.
Best man was 1st Lt. Jason Epperly. Groomsmen were Kent Evans, brother of the bride, 1st Lt. Matthew Ross, 1st Lt. Josh Slocum and Patrick Holland. Ringer bearer was Brady McKechnie, nephew of the groom.
Mrs. Hammond is a 2004 graduate of Elk Grove High School. She graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in science.
Mr. Hammond is a 2006 graduate of Howland High School. He graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in system engineering management.
Mr. and Mrs. Hammond are KC 135 pilots. They are stationed at March Air Force Base in Lakeside, Calif.
