Phantoms beat Stars, 5-2
YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown’s Connor MacEacher picked up a loose puck with 42.7 seconds left in the second period and got it past Lincoln netminder Samuel Hlavaj for the game-winning goal Friday at the Covelli Centre. That play started three straight goals as the Phantoms beat the Stars, 5-2.
Youngstown (20-16-1-3, 44 points) took a 1-0 lead in the first period off of Trevor Kuntar’s slap shot.
Matthew Barnaby pushed the lead to 2-0 with 10:31 left in the second period.
The Phantoms and Stars finish their series tonight, starting at 7:05 p.m., back in Youngstown.
