Daubenspeck, Gregory honored at City event

Two longtime area bowlers were honored on Saturday when they rolled out the first balls for the 79th Warren City Tournament at Freeway Lanes.

Chuck Daubenspeck, the current Warren USBC Bowling Association manager has 45 years of continuous service to the organization in various capacities and is a member of the Hall of Fame.

Stanley Gregory, a past president and Hall of Fame member, was honored for being the only bowler to have bowled in all 39 Warren Masters/Challenge Tournaments.

This year’s City Tournament competition concludes next weekend (Feb. 17-18). Bowlers are competing in singles, doubles, and team events, along with optional all events, in both scratch and handicap divisions.

Squads will roll at 1 and 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tournament payout will be March17 from noon to 2 p.m. at Freeway Lanes.
