TCCDU holding Sportsman’s night

Trumbull County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will be having its annual Sportsman’s Night Out on Friday, May 16 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Sorrento’s Banquet Room, 2488 Parkman Road N.W. in Warren.

Tickets are $60 for a single or $80 per couple. A youth ticket is $25. The ticket includes membership, meal, and non alcoholic beverages. A cash bar available.

All proceeds to benefit wetlands conservation.

Gun club’s trader dayis April 26

The Trumbull County Rod and Gun Club will hold their popular Trader Day “Coon Dog Field Trials and Gun Show” on April 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the club, located at 6565 Phillips-Rice Road.

The event will feature all types of sporting equipment including: hunting, fishing, archery and numerous firearms to buy, sell or trade.

All buyers, sellers, and spectators are welcome. There is free parking and free admission with food and beverages available all day.

ODNR, HCC holds shotgun course

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Hubbard Conservation Club will be instructing both the beginner and experienced shooters in the art of safe and fun shotgun handling and sports. The one-day course will be held today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This course is free to the public, including adults and minors who are accompanied by a legal adult or guardian.

All equipment for teaching shotgun safety and skills will be provided by the clinic sponsors.

Marksmanship program being held

Western Reserve Fish and Game Association will be holding a civilian marksmanship program, which is open to any student from a school that does not have a competitive shooting team and is between the ages of 10 and 18 years old.

The cost is $5 per week with an additional $25 that covers all major competition events.

The association will supply the training, ammunition, awards and travel. Parents do not need to be club members for their child to participate. Practice is every Monday in either the late afternoon or early evening.

Poker run coming in June

Western Reserve Fish and Game Association will be holding its third annual Shooters and Scooters Poker Run. Proceeds from the run go to the club’s civialian marksmanship program.

The run will be held Jun 7, with the rain date of June 8. Cost is $10 per rider and $5 per passneger.

SCGA looking for new members

Sponsors Classic Golf Association is entering its 41st season and is looking for new members into the organization.

The SCGA is a USGA licensed member club using handicaps based on the USGA system for handicapping. All Tournaments are played at 100 percent handicap, unless noted.

To be a part of the SCGA, one must pay memebership dues of $20 and entry fee for each tournament. Another option is $65, which includes memebership dues and all tournament except the two optional tournaments.
