GIRLS ROUNDUP: Canfield shocks Green

NORTH CANTON – Canfield came back from a 16-point halftime deficit and shocked Green in overtime of a Division I District semifinal at Alumni Arena on the campus of Walsh Unverisity with a 41-38 victory.

The Cardinals trailed 26-10 at the half, but they held Green to nine points in the third and fourth quarters while scoring 25 of their own. Canfield then outscored the Bulldogs, 6-3, in overtime to secure the victory. The Cardinals play in the district championship on Friday at Alumni Arena against the winner of today’s North Canton Hoover-Perry matchup.

Canfield’s Rachel Tinkey registered a double-double with a game-high 26 points and 15 rebounds. Julia Guyton paced Green with 14 points, while Tarah McCausland added 11.

TICKETS ON SALE FOR BROOKFIELD GAME:?Tickets for the Brookfield girls district tournament basketball game will be on sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the high school office on through Thursday. Prices are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students. All tickets at the game will cost $6.00. Brookfield will play South Range on Thursday at Struthers starting at 7:30.
