WRESTLING ROUNDUP: Canfield wins EOWL dual meet title

CANFIELD – Canfield won the Division I, Eastern Ohio Wrestling League dual meet championship on Saturday.

The Cardinals did so by defeating Boardman, 57-16. The win improved Canfield’s record to a perfect 4-0 against EOWL, Division I opponents and 10-2 overall. It’s the Cardinals’ fourth title in the last four seasons.

BROOKFIELD’S JAMIESON WINS TITLE AT GREENON INVITATIONAL: SPRINGFIELD – Brookfield’s Zach Jamieson kept his perfect season going by placing first at the Greenon Invitational.

The Warriors finished eighth as a team with 188.5 points. The 170-pound Jamieson (14-0) pinned all four of his opponents, including Trevor Hicks of Washington Courthouse in the finals.

Brookfield’s Zach Hackett took second at 195 pounds. Gavin Miglets (113) and Rico Rotunna (132) each placed third, while Chris Bernadella (145) finished sixth.

Urbana won the event with 382 points. Beavercreek was second with 343 points, and Fairborn was third with 323.
