Rosenbeger lifts Rockets by Southington

Maplewood’s Brandon Rosenberger hit a two-RBI bloop single in a four-run second inning that was the key hit for the Rockets in their 6-4 victory over Southington.

Josh Muresan struck out seven over five strong innings. He also drove in two.

Mike Raschilla of McDonald hit a three-run homer to left field in the fifth inning to initiate the 10-run rule in the Blue Devils’ 18-6 rout of Lisbon.

McDonald’s Christian Rusinowski led everyone with four hits, including two doubles, and he also added three RBIs. Raschilla recorded three hits, was a triple away from the cycle and drove in five.

Peyton Aldridge struck out 14 as LaBrae beat Girard, 4-1, in an All-American Conference, National Division clash.

Aldridge allowed four hits, two walks and one run over seven innings. LaBrae (10-5, 6-2) took advantage of a few Girard blunders to score its four runs. An error and a fielder’s choice allowed the Vikings to score two runs in the fifth, and they added two in the sixth thanks to an error, a stolen base, a passed ball and a wild pitch.

Nick Ferguson pitched a complete-game shutout, while his brother, Dan, launched his fifth home run of the season to power Mineral Ridge to an 11-0 win over United.

Aaron Suchanek had three hits and Matt Harries struck out six in Mathews’ 12-1 win over Bloomfield.

Anthony Wielbruda and Tyler Hailey each had two hits for Brookfield in its 8-4 win over Champion.

Tim Steed had five hits and scored four runs and Josh Kovats and Kyle Orgoran had home runs in Grand Valley’s 16-6 20-hit win over Bristol.
