McDonald’s Mosley, Ross advance in shot put

NEW MIDDLETOWN – McDonald’s Jai’Lyn Mosley and Tory Ross took first and second in the girls shot put during Wednesday’s Division III district track and field meet at Springfield High School.

Mosley threw 38 feet, 10.5 inches, while Ross threw 37-9.

McDonald’s 4×800 team took second to help the girls take a first-day lead (26.5 points).

Meanwhile, South Range leads McDonald’s boys, 24-22.

The Blue Devils 4×800 team of Allan Coviello, Robert Johnson, David Natoli and Patrick Kunkel took first in a time of 8 minutes, 23.00 seconds.

South Range’s Jon Kennedy took first in the discus (151-1), while McDonald’s Christian Smith was second (150-4).

Friday’s finals begin at 4 p.m.
