Shore paces Ursuline past Harding, 3-1
Ursuline’s Makayla Shore’s second hit of the game was the go-ahead, two-run single in the bottom of the sixth, which scored Anny Carroll and Macy Gunther to give the Irish the 3-1 victory over Warren G. Harding.
Carroll and Megan Ross tripled for the Irish. Shore scattered five hits and struck out 12 for her ninth win on the mound. Shelby Crist and Ray’ale Allen doubled for the Raiders while Chelsea Dipaolo had two singles.
Emily Price had three hits and Victoria Rappach added two hits and two RBIs as Howland defeated Struthers, 6-1. Hannah Burke got the win on the mound.
Springfield’s Troggi went 3 for 3 with a home run and two singles and drove in all six of the Tigers’ runs to defeat Brookfield, 6-1. Brookfield’s Alisha Quinlan pitched hit her first career home run in the loss.
Newton Falls’ Bailey Shade struck out 11 and scattered three hits as the Tigers defeated Lakeview, 3-1, in All-American Conference, National Division action. Newton Falls scored two runs early, then added one in the seventh to secure the victory.
Angela Penza threw a three-hitter, striking out 12 in leading Cardinal Mooney past John F. Kennedy, 4-1, in a rain-shortened six inning game. Shannon Saadey and Sydney Kocher each had two hits to lead the Cardinals offensively.
Mathews scored three early runs to defeat Bristol 4-2 in a weather-shortened six inning game. Andy Morgan and Matt Harries each had two hits for the Mustangs, who are now 11-2 (8-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference). Alex Bagaglia struck out six for the win.
Girard was trailing going into the bottom of the fourth, but Kyle Harris’ two-out, two-run double put the Indians on the board and jump started the team to a 7-4 victory over Campbell. Evan Standohar and Jordan Graziano each had two hits for the Indians.
