Thu. 4:20 p.m.: LaBrae falls in state semifinal
COLUMBUS — LaBrae’s road to the school’s first ever state basketball title fell short on Thursday, as the Vikings lost, 64-52, to Versailles in a Division III state semifinal.
The Vikings had the 37-33 lead at halftime, but tough defense by Versailles in the second half allowed the Tigers to come back and pull away for the victory.
Leading LaBrae was two-time All-Ohio first team player Peyton Aldridge with 23 points and nine rebounds.
The Vikings finished the season with a 24-4 record. The school was making its first appearance at the state tournament.
