Girard’s Teter finishes 16th at state

CANTON – Girard High School freshman Savannah Teter placed 16th out of 24 in the Division II state diving competition with 335.50 Wednesday at the C.T. Branin Natatorium.

Columbus St. Francis DeSales’ Andrea Aquista won state with 419.25, while Columbus Wellington’s Brittany Anderson was second (415.50).

Scores are determined by seven judges. The top two and bottom two scores are thrown out on each dive, leaving the middle three tallies.

Teter finished 13th after preliminaries with a score of 160.40.

The swimming portion of the meet starts today at 5 p.m., with the Division II preliminaries.
