Badger edges Lordstown; PV blasts Newbury

¯ BADGER 56, LORDSTOWN 54: VERNON — Madison Karr’s 3-pointer as time expired lifted the Braves past the Red Devils.

Badger trailed 52-45 with less than 2 minutes remaining and outscored Lordstown 11-2 to win the game.

Badger had 10 3-pointers, including Karr’s game-winner.

Kiersten Tricker paced Badger with 16 points.

Lauryn Hamilton added 11 points, while Madison Karr and Brooke Morgan each added 10.

¯ PYMATUNING VALLEY 82, NEWBURY 42: ANDOVER — Ashley Hall scored a career-high 38 points, with 25 in the first half, as the Lakers dominated Newbury in a Northeastern Athletic Conference clash.

Hall sank five of her six 3-pointers in the first two quarters, when PV (5-3, 4-0) took a 48-26 lead. Hall also had a team-best nine steals. Kendall Baker registered a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Mackenzie Grubbs paced the Black Knights with 18 points.

¯ JOHN F. KENNEDY 58, FUCHS MIZRACHI 29: UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — Caitlyn Condoleon cored 21 of her game-high 35 points in the second half as the Eagles cruised past the Mayhem.

Condoleon sank all four of Kennedy’s four 3-pointers, helping the Eagles take a 32-14 halftime lead. Naomi Herman added 16 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.

¯ JACKSON-MILTON 62, LOWELLVILLE 13: NORTH JACKSON — The Blue Jays blanked the Rockets 17-0 in the first quarter to roll in this Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference battle.

Grace McDevitt led a quartet of double-figure scorers with 12 points. Courtney Mercer had 11 points for Jackson-Milton, while Ashley Cameron and Abigail Spalding each had 10 points.

Emmalle McGiarry had six for Lowellville.

¯ BRISTOL 56, MATHEWS 34: VIENNA — Kendyl Switzer and Bella Zirzow combined for 21 for the Panthers 31 points in the second half as Bristol pulled past the Mustangs.

Switzer had 12 points, while Zirzow had 11 as the Panthers outscored Mathews 31-9 in the second half — breaking a halftime score tied at 25.

The two combined for 15 rebounds as Bristol had plenty of points near the basket.

Brittany Mooney led Bristol with 21 points.

Carlie Pratt paced Mathews with 16 points, seven rebounds, six steals, three assists and two blocks.

¯ MAPLEWOOD 49, WINDHAM 22: MECCA — Marissa Ventura had 14 points, while Heidi Stiffler added 12 points as the Rockets beat the Bombers.

Madison Murray added 10 points for Maplewood, which outscored Windham 28-8 at halftime.

Zarah Cunningham led Windham with nine points.

¯ SPRINGFIELD 48, MINERAL RIDGE 45: MINERAL RIDGE — Marle Applegraft had 15 points, while Makenzy Cappulez and Ellie Centofanti each had 10 to lead the Tigers past the Rams.

Fran Kesner had 14, while Alexa Harkins added 10 for Mineral Ridge.

¯ POLAND 66, LAKEVIEW 20: POLAND — Poland shot 50 percent from the floor and was too much for Lakeview.

Sarah Bury led the Bulldogs with 12 points, while Marlie McConnell added 10 for a Poland tam which held a 34-11 lead at halftime.

Megan Zetterquist paced the Bulldogs with seven points.
