Harding’s Adams wins 100; Tigers’ Mauri takes 3,200

AUSTINTOWN — A pair of Trumbull County juniors can consider themselves Division I Austintown District track and field champions.

Warren G. Harding’s Kay’Ron Adams won the boys 100-meter dash (10.84 seconds), while Howland’s Vincent Mauri took the boys 3,200 title (9:22.04).

Austintown Fitch boys and girls teams finished runner-up to Solon. The boys had 91 points to Solon’s 172, while the Falcons girls had 97.75 points to Solon’s 109.5.

The Fitch boys won the 4×100 (43.10) and 4×200 relays (1:28.78).

Jakari Lumsden won the boys high jump, with teammate Deondre McKeever taking second. Both jumped 6 feet, 4 inches.

Boardman’s Steven Amstutz won the boys shot (53-1.5).

Fitch’s Lauren Dolak won the girls 800 (2:19.49).

Youngstown East’s Jahniya Bowers won the girls 100 (12.17) and 200 (25.08), while leading the Golden Bears girls 4×100 (48.66) and 4×200 relays (1:42.08).

Double winners at Cuyahoga Heights: CUYAHOGA HEIGHTS — LaBrae’s Dynesty Ervin won the girls 100- and 200-meter dashes at Friday’s Division III Cuyahoga Heights District track and field meet.

Ervin won in times fo 12.27 and 25.68 seconds.

Badger’s Devin Moore won the 110 and 300 hurdles in times of 15.23 and 40.94 seconds, while the Braves boys 4×400 relay won with 3:33.85.

Maplewood’s Ethan Sparks won the 800 (1:59.52) and 1,600 (4:31.62).

Grand Valley’s Allie Holmes won the girls 100 and 300 hurdles (15.94 and 46.10 seconds).

Lordstown’s Greg Romain won the boys high jump (5 feet, 10 inches), while Mathews’ Claire Miller won the girls shot put (36-8).

Badger’s Miranda Stanhope won the girls 3,200 (11:32.59), helping the Braves to a second-place finish with 66 points. Gilmour Academy won with 138.
