LaBrae stays unbeaten; Champion, Falls win

¯ LaBRAE 64, CAMPBELL 50: CAMPBELL — LaBrae remained undefeated with a quality road win over Campbell in All-American Conference Blue Tier action.

LaBrae (17-0, 11-0) was led by Tyler Stephens with 26 points with two 3-pointers ad Logan Kiser with 18 points.

Campbell was led by Trey Edwards with 15 points, Eric Van Cobb with 13 points and Nick Kouros with 12 points.

¯ CHAMPION 67, GIRARD 58: GIRARD — Champion outscored Girard, 19-10, in the third quarter to get the win in All-American Conference Blue Tier play.

Champion (11-8, 9-3) was led by Chase Wheelock with 27 points on six 3-pointers and Drake Batcho with 25 points with two 3-pointers.

Girard (10-10, 6-6) was led by both David Blackmon with 16 and Austin Clausell with 16.

Champion hit nine 3-pointers as Girard hit just five.

¯ NEWTON FALLS 64, BROOKFIELD 54: BROOKFIELD — Newton Falls outscored Brookfield 35-27 in the second half to pull away with the win in All-American Conference Blue Tier.

Newton Falls (11-7, 8-3) was led by Chris Rankin with 23 points and eight rebounds while Preston Rapzcak had 14 points and eight rebounds. Gage Friend contributed 11 points with five assists.

Brookfield (0-17, 0-12) was led by Connor Stevens with 21 points and Nate Smoot with 16 points.

Brookfield hit 11 3-pointers to Newton Falls’ four in the loss.

¯ STRUTHERS 67, LAKEVIEW 48: CORTLAND — Struthers outscored Lakeview, 36-25, in the second half to pull away with the All-American Conference White Tier win.

Struthers was led by Isaiah Torreance with 17 points, Carson Ryan with 16 and Kevin Traylor with 15 points.

Lakeview(13-6, 7-5) was led by Daniel Evans with 16 points and TJ Lynch with seven points and eight rebounds.

Struthers hit 11 3-pointers to Lakeview’s five.

¯ WESTERN RESERVE 65, CRESTVIEW 49: COLUMBIANA — Western Reserve got a win over Crestview in non-conference play as it outscored the Rebels, 32-17, in the first half.

Western Reserve (11-6) was led by Cole DeZee with 14 points and Jack Cappabianca with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Blue Devils also got help from Kade Hilles with eight points and seven rebounds, Ryan Demsky with five assist and Riley Miller with four assist and three steals.

Crestview was led by Scott Murray with 17 points and Drake Golden with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

¯ GRAND VALLEY 74, MAPLEWOOD 50: MECCA — Grand Valley led at halftime, 43-15, en route to a road victory against Maplewood in Northeastern Athletic Conference play.

Grand Valley (10-8, 8-5) was led by both Malik Mitchell and Jude Cunningham with 22 apiece.

Maplewood (7-12, 5-8) was led by Thomas Dorsey with 12 points and Jared Bedlion with 11 points.

¯ LISBON 74, MINERAL RIDGE 55: LISBON — Lisbon defeated Mineral Ridge in non-conference play behind Justin Sweeney’s 38 points.

Lisbon was also led by Branson Brownfield with 20 points.

Mineral Ridge (7-15) was led by Koby Zupko with 16 points.

Lisbon hit 12 3-pointers to Ridge’s five.

¯ McDONALD 92, COLUMBIANA 70: COLUMBIANA — McDonald has now won nine-straight games after defeating Columbiana in non-conference play. McDonald outscored the Clippers, 28-9, in the third quarter to get the win.

McDonald (17-1) was led by Braedon Poole with 30 points, Zach Rasile with 19 points and Josh Celli with 17 points.

Columbiana was led by Jared Wilson with 26 points including five 3-pointers.

¯ HUBBARD 67, JEFFERSON 48: HUBBARD — Hubbard defeated Jefferson in All-American Conference White Tier play.

Hubbard (11-9, 6-6) was led by Davion Daniels with 15 points and Nick Ferrera with 15 points. Cam Resatar had 14 points as well.

Jefferson was led by Zak Pasanen with 20 points.

Hubbard led 35-12 at halftime.

¯ CANFIELD 68, LAKESIDE 43: CANFIELD — Canfield defeated Lakeside in All-American Conference Red Tier play. Canfield led 27-9 at halftime.

Canfield (11-7, 7-4) was led by Ian McGraw with 13 points while Ethan Kalina and Zach TInkey both had 10 points each.

Lakeside was led by Ceon Howell with 11 points and Marquise West with 10 points.

Canfield hit two more threes than Lakeside.

¯ ERIE CATHEDRAL PREP 78, URSULINE 58: ERIE, Pa. — Ursuline started well, grabbing a 17-14 lead after one quarter, but a 21-8 second quarter put the Irish behind by 10 at halftime and a 21-10 third quarter all but decided the game.

RJ Clark led the Irish (4-15) with 22 points and Devin Keevey added 18.

Cathedral Prep (10-10) was led by Aaron McBride with 24 points.

Girls

¯ POLAND 73, EDGEWOOD 15: ASHTABULA — Poland dominated from the start against Edgewood as it clinched a share of the All-American Conference White Tier with Struthers.

Poland (16-4, 11-1) was led by Marlie McConnell with 13 points. She was one of five girls in double figures.

Edgewood was led by Faith Diemer with seven points.

¯ VILLA MARIA 68, URSULINE 44: ERIE, Pa. — Dayshanette Harris poured in 33 points on the strength of seven 3-pointers, but it wasn’t enough for the Irish (11-9). Ursuline fell behind 17-5 after one quarter and trailed 39-16 at halftime.

Villa Maria (17-4) got 19 points from Molly Emraz and 16 from Addie Cross.
