Kennedy easily wins over Lordstown, 69-31
¯ KENNEDY 69, LORDSTOWN 31: WARREN — Byron Taylor had 18 of his game-high 21 points in the first half as the Eagles took a 49-19 lead at halftime in this Division IV Orwell District sectional first-round game.
Gianni Eaton added 12 for fifth-seeded Kennedy (13-10), which travels to fourth-seeded Richmond Heights on Friday for a sectional bracket final. B.J. Williams put in 11 for a Kennedy team that emptied its bench in the second half.
Vincent Giovannone led Lordstown (5-18) with eight points.
¯ SPRINGFIELD 69, JACKSON-MILTON 32: NEW MIDDLETOWN — Drew Clark had 15 of his game-high 24 points in the first half as the Tigers held a 50-21 lead at intermission.
Brandon Walters added 16 points, while Shane Eynon added 12 for fifth-seeded Springfield in this Division IV Struthers District sectional first-round game.
Guy Costello led 12th-seeded Jackson-Milton (2-21) with nine points.
Friday, Springfield travels to fourth-seeded Western Reserve for a sectional bracket final.
¯ WESTERN RESERVE 101, HEARTLAND CHRISTIAN 31: BERLIN CENTER — Ryan Demsky had a game-high 24 and and six 3-pointers as fourth-seeded Western Reserve dispatched 13th-seeded Heartland Christian in a Division IV Struthers District sectional first-round game.
Western Reserve (16-6) led 67-19 at halftime.
Jack Cappabianca added 16, while Kade Hilles put in 11 for the Blue Devils, who host fifth-seeded Springfield on Friday in a sectional bracket final.
Steven Baker led Heartland Christian (3-21) with nine points.
