Jackson-Milton, PV clinch league titles

¯ PYMATUNING VALLEY 65, GRAND VALLEY 33: ANDOVER — Madison Hurst had a game-high 23 points to lead the Lakers to the Northeastern Athletic Conference, Stars Division title.

Hurst had nine of her points in the first quarter as Pymatuning Valley (13-3, 11-0) took a 23-11 lead.

Kendall Baker put in 16, while Ashley Hall added 12 for the Lakers.

Brandy Smith paced Grand Valley (6-11, 4-7) with 10 points.

¯ JACKSON-MILTON 50, WESTERN RESERVE 30: BERLIN CENTER — With its win over Western Reserve, Jackson-Milton won the first-ever Mahoning Valley Atheltic Conference championship.

Jackson-Milton (16-1, 12-1) was led by Michaelina Terranova with 15 points, four assists and four steals. Emily WIlliams also had 15 points while Ashley Cameron came near a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds.

Western Reserve (14-5, 10-4) was led by Alexis Hughes with eight points and five rebounds. Kennedy Miller finished with three assists.

The Blue Jays outrebounded and outassisted the Blue Devils in the win.

¯ JOHN F. KENNEDY 49, FAIRPORT HARDING 25: FAIRPORT HARBOR — A strong defensive game for John F. Kennedy saw it get the win over Fairport Harding in non-conference play. John F. Kennedy (8-9) was led by Caitlyn Condoleon with 18 points and six assists. Danielle Bradley had 14 points with three assists. Kaitlyn Marlatt grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Fairport Harding was led by Vanessa Yowell with nine points and Ryann Hagedorn with eight points.

¯ MAPLEWOOD 43, BADGER 41: MECCA — Madison Murray had 10 points and 17 rebounds as the Rockets held off the Braves in this NAC Stars game.

Maplewood (6-11, 3-7 NAC Stars) held a 39-26 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but the Rockets shot 2 of 9 from the foul line as Badger (11-7, 6-4) had some key steals to creep back into the game.

Heidi Stiffler led the Rockets with 18 points, while Courtney Hubbard added 11.

Haylee Mott paced the Braves with 11 points, while Chloe Flowers and Madison Karr each had 10.

¯ MINERAL RIDGE 60, SEBRING 41: SEBRING — Senior Taryn Kolesar led the Rams with a game-high 26 points.

Noelle Bukovina and Alexa Harkins each had 10 points for Mineral Ridge (9-10, 6-8 Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference).

Kyleisha Jays led the Trojans with 12 points, while Emma Whaley added 11.

¯ CRESTVIEW 66, MATHEWS 47: COLUMBIANA — Mathews broke its three-game winning streak with a non-conference loss to Crestview on the second of back-to-back contests.

Mathews (9-8) was led by Emily Strama with 16 points and Carlie Pratt with 11 points.

Crestview was led by Bailey Eskra with 15 points, Taryn Gilbert with 12 points and Tanner Hoffer with 10 points.

¯ BRISTOL 44, CHALKER 36: SOUTHINGTON — Bristol got a much-needed road win in Northeastern Athletic Conference Stripes Division play over Chalker.

Bristol (12-5, 9-2 NAC Stripes) was led by Brittany Mooney with 17 points and Kendyl Switzer with 11 points. Amelia Durda was big down the stretch as she was 4-4 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.

Chalker (9-8, 4-7) was led by Courtney Warnick with 12 points and Emma Baugher with eight points.
