Harding trounces Sharon to take tourney

¯ WARREN G. HARDING 71, SHARON (PA) 48: SHARON — Warren G. Harding used a strong first half to win the Sharon Holiday Tournament over the host, Sharon.

Harding (7-3) used a strong rebounding performance to get the win. Toni Donaldson led the way with 26 points and 15 rebounds.

Faith Burch also a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Sharon fell behind and couldn’t make up the difference. The Tigers were led by Marianna Harris with 13 points and Ayanna Harrison with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Harding also had 21 steals as Donaldson and Brayleonna Woods both had six. Harding outrebounded Sharon 58-37 in the game.

¯ BROOKFIELD 76, VALLEY CHRISTIAN 68: BROOKFIELD — Brookfield used a strong shooting night to win the Brookfield Holiday Tournament over Valley Christian.

Brookfield (7-3) used a strong rebounding game to outlast the Eagles as Bailey Drapola flirted with a triple-double with 31 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. She also hit four 3-pointers.

Rebecca Litz had a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Valley Christian had a great game from Kristen Gill as she had 30 points with its only 3-pointer.

Brookfield hit five 3-pointers to Valley Christian’s one.

¯ MAPLEWOOD (PA) 61, JOHN F. KENNEDY 39: SHARON — In the consolation game of the Sharon Holiday Tournament, Maplewood (PA) got out to a big halftime lead and John F. Kennedy couldn’t make up that lead. Maplewood led 37-15 at the half.

Kennedy (5-5) couldn’t find its range early. Caitlyn Condoleon led the Eagles with 19 points and five rebounds. Condoleon was named to the All-Tournament team.

Maplewood was led by Maggie Hunter with 19 points. Sophie Varndell also had 12 points.

Maplewood also hit one more three than JFK, 4-3.
