McDonald boys, girls, Niles boys win cross country titles

WALSH JESUIT TOMAHAWK RUN: CUYAHOGA FALLS — McDonald’s Ethan Domitrovich won the Division II-III boys title in 16:38.0 on Saturday.

Poland’s Sam Dwyer was fourth (16:56.0), while teammate Mason Matiste was seventh (17:07.00). McDonald’s Carson Fortune took eighth (17:21.00) and Brody Rupe was 10th (17:26.00).

The McDonald boys beat out Poland for the team title, 51-56.

McDonald’s Malina Mitchell and Anna Guerra took second (19:09) and third (19:13) in the girls race. Poland’s Gianna Stanich was seventh (19:38) and Howland’s Maria Dellimuti was eighth (19:50).

McDonald’s girls won the girls title over Hawken, 68 to 71.

EAST PALESTINE ROTARY INVITATIONAL: EAST PALESTINE — Kevin Dubaj and Micah Curry of Niles finished 1-2 in the boys race at the East Palestine Rotary Invitational. Dubaj won in a time of 17:59.3, while Curry ran 18:26.3. Jackson-Milton’s Anthony Pizzuto was third (18:30.2) on Saturday.

The Niles boys beat Jackson-Milton for the title, 27-54.

Niles’ Hailey Zelinsky took second in the girls race behind East Palestine’s Alexis Cunningham. Cunningham won in 20:19.5, while Zelinski ran 20:33.5.

Jackson-Milton’s Michaelina Terranova was fourth (21:51.3).

East Palestine beat Niles for the team title, 20-47.

RAY SWEENEY INVITIATIONAL: BROOKFIELD — Garfield’s Tyler Klouda won the boys title over Grand Valley’s John Steimle, 17:03.74 to 17:26.67 on Saturday.

Boardman’s Mitchel Dunham (17:43.03), Champion’s Mikel Lagaras (17:52.93) and Boardman’s Mark Moradian (17:58.58) round out the top five.

Grand Valley’s Jocelyn DeVan won the girls title (21:54.36), while Garfield’s Gianna D’Amico was second (22:05.67).

Garfield won the team title with 31 points.

TIFFIN CARNIVAL: TIFFIN — Maplewood boys took third with 214 points in the Division III-A varsity race. Ethan Sparks finished 13th in 16:14.3 on Saturday.

Badger’s Miranda Stanhope was third in the Division III girls race in 18:49.7. The Badger girls took sixth with 255.
