ABOUT HOWLAND: The senior combination of quarterback Samari Dean and Jackson Deemer went for about 300 yards rushing in its victory over Lakeview. Dean had 14 carries for 137 yards and score, while, Deemer had 23 carries for 159 yards and a TD. However, the Tigers secondary gave up 342 yards passing to Lakeview quarterback Zach Rogers.

ABOUT BOARDMAN: Quarterback Mike O’Horo and Jujuan Forte combined for half of the Spartans points as Boardman took care of Youngstown East. Domonhic Jennings added a rushing score.

ABOUT LIBERTY: Dra Rushton had 77 yards rushing — 65 on the Leopards only score. He added 34 yards passing. Liberty’s defense gave up 219 yards rushing.

ABOUT LAKEVIEW: Quarterback Zach Rogers had 342 yards passing and Drew Munno had 100 yards receiving as the Bulldogs tore through the Howland secondary. However, Lakeview had two missed extra points and two missed field goals. The Bulldogs also gave up nearly 400 yards rushing.

ABOUT GIRARD: Mark Waid started off the 2017 season where he left off 2016, airing out the ball. Waid was 14 of 25 with 263 yards and three scores. Michael Belcik, Waid’s favorite target, had eight catches for 180 yards and two scores.
