JFK’s Bofenkamp first team All-Ohio

COLUMBUS — John F. Kennedy’s Justin Bofenkamp was named to the Associated Press All-Ohio boys basketball Division IV first team Monday.

Bofenkmap led the Eagles in scoring at 17 points per game during their run to a regional final. The 6-foot senior shot 58 percent from the floor, averaged four rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game for the district champions.

JFK finished the year 20-8, losing a close battle with Lutheran East, 67-64, in the Division IV Canton regional final.

Bofenkamp was the only local player on the first, second or third teams. Jared Jakubick of Mansfield St. Peter’s was named the D-IV Player of the Year, while Portsmouth Clay’s Adam Betten and Matt Tabler of Lima Perry were named co-coaches of the year.
